Type your number and an optional message. You get a wa.me link that opens a chat with you, plus a QR code to download, free and with no sign-up.
The number that has WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business on it. Spaces and dashes are fine, we clean them up.
A pre-filled message tells you where the chat came from. Use a different one for your ads, your Instagram bio and your counter QR.

Every WhatsApp button on socialorange.in opens a chat with Leo, our founder. But if you open the page source, you won’t find the phone number anywhere. We use the short link that the WhatsApp Business app creates, so bots that scrape websites for phone numbers find nothing.
You probably came here for something simpler. You want people to tap once and land in a chat with you, with a message already typed, from your Instagram bio, your website or a QR code on your counter. The tool above does exactly that. Below I’ll show you how the link works, where to put it, and how to tell which chats came from where.
Write https://wa.me/ followed by your full number with the country code, with no plus sign, spaces, brackets, dashes or leading zero. For an Indian number that is 91 followed by your 10 digits. To add a pre-filled message, put ?text= after the number and then your message, with spaces written as %20. This is the format on WhatsApp’s own help page about click to chat.
| You want | Link format |
|---|---|
| Just open a chat | https://wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX |
| Open a chat with a message typed | https://wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX?text=Hi%20there |
The tool does the cleaning for you. Paste your number any way you like, and it removes spaces, dashes and the leading zero, and checks that an Indian mobile number has 10 digits.

Use a link with its own opening line, such as “Hi, I found you on Instagram”, so every chat tells you where it came from.
Put it on your contact page and use it as the button link in your Google Business Profile posts.
Facebook and Instagram ads can open WhatsApp directly. For Google ads, emails and newsletters, use a link with a message like “Hi, I saw your ad”.
Print the QR code. Customers scan it with their phone camera and the chat opens with your message ready.
A one-tap way for customers to ask about an order or a payment without hunting for your number.
Make a separate link for each place you share it. It’s the cheapest tracking you will ever set up.
| Option | Where you make it | Good to know | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| wa.me link (this tool) | Here, or by hand | Your number is part of the link | Bios, websites, QR codes, emails |
| WhatsApp Business short link (wa.me/message/โฆ) | Inside the WhatsApp Business app | Hides your number and can carry one default message | Websites where you don’t want your number scraped |
| Click-to-WhatsApp ad | Meta Ads Manager | After you reply, Meta charges nothing for your messages to that person for up to 7 days | Getting new leads to message you |
Free window rule from Meta’s WhatsApp pricing page.
Make one link for your Instagram bio, one for the counter QR and one for each ad, each with its own opening line. When a chat arrives, the first message tells you where it came from, and after a month you know which place actually brings customers.
We go a step further for clients running Google Ads. A short reference code inside the pre-filled message lets us match each real chat to the ad click, and we report only the chats that actually arrive. For one car-inspection client, most of the WhatsApp “leads” Google had been counting were taps that never became a chat.
Type your number and an optional message in the tool above and copy the wa.me link it makes. You can also write it yourself: https://wa.me/ followed by your country code and number, with no plus sign, spaces or leading zero.
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit, and nothing you type is sent to us, because the link and the QR code are made in your browser.
No. A wa.me link keeps working as long as the number is on WhatsApp. If you change your number, make a new link and a new QR code.
Yes. Add ?text= and your message after the number. The tool does this for you and encodes spaces and symbols correctly.
Yes, the number is part of the link. To hide it, use the short link the WhatsApp Business app creates, or send people from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad.
Yes. It opens a chat with whichever number you entered, whether it runs WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business.
If your WhatsApp is full of chats that go nowhere, message me with your business and where the chats come from. I read every message, and I’ll tell you honestly what I’d change first. Leo
