The short version

What does digital marketing for a logistics company actually involve?

For a logistics company, digital marketing means showing up when a shipper searches for your lane, service or city, and making it easy for them to send you an RFQ. Festival greetings on Instagram are not a logistics marketing plan.

Shippers search in specifics: a mode, a route, a commodity, a city. Think of searches like “sea freight Chennai to Jebel Ali”, “3PL warehouse in Bangalore” or “office relocation Bangalore to Pune”. The companies that win those searches have a page that answers exactly that question, a quote form that asks for exactly what they need to price it, and someone who replies fast.

Logistics is where much of our published proof comes from: two of our case studies are logistics SEO, and our clients include Gati KWE, Globe Moving, Featherlite Logistics and Arbhu Supply Chain.

  • SEO, Google Search ads and LinkedIn from one in-house team
  • Reports lead with enquiries and cost per enquiry
  • Same city and time zone for Bangalore logistics teams

Buyer journeys

How do shippers actually find a logistics partner?

Different parts of logistics are bought in very different ways. The plan has to match how your buyer searches, compares and asks for a price.

Freight forwarding and customs

Export-import managers search by lane, mode, port and commodity, and they ask compliance questions before they ask for a price.

  • Pages per lane and mode you actually serve
  • Guides on documentation, Incoterms and HS codes
  • RFQ form with origin, destination, mode, weight and commodity

3PL, warehousing and contract logistics

Supply-chain heads compare partners on location, capacity, systems and service levels, and the decision goes through operations, finance and procurement.

  • Facility and capability pages with real details
  • Case studies by industry served
  • LinkedIn content for the people on the committee

Packers, movers and relocation

Households and HR teams search locally and urgently, read reviews, and want a quote on WhatsApp the same day.

  • Google Business Profile and reviews
  • City and route pages for moves you handle
  • WhatsApp quote flow and fast replies

Express, courier and trucking

SME shippers check coverage, transit times and rates, often from a phone.

  • Coverage and service pages that load fast on mobile
  • Google Search ads on exact service and city terms
  • Clear paths to a quote or a pickup request
Keyword map

Which searches should a logistics website rank for?

This is the shape of the keyword map we build in a logistics audit. Each type of search needs its own page and its own way to convert.

Example searches only. In the audit we build the real map from the lanes and services that make you money, your Search Console data and your competitors’ rankings.

Common problems

What do most logistics websites get wrong?

Most logistics websites describe the company instead of answering the shipper’s question. These are the problems we find most often in an audit:

  • One “Services” page for everything. Air, sea, customs and warehousing on a single page cannot rank for any of them.
  • No lane or route pages, or hundreds of near-identical ones made by swapping city names. Google treats mass-produced pages like that as scaled content abuse.
  • A quote form that asks for everything before the buyer gets anything back, or one so thin that sales has to call back just to start pricing.
  • Enquiries landing in a shared inbox with no way to tell which came from search, ads or referrals.
  • A blog of industry news that nobody searches for, instead of answers to the questions shippers ask before they buy.
  • No proof. No case studies, no client names, no Google reviews.

Logistics marketing questions

Does SEO work for freight forwarders and logistics companies?

Yes, when it targets the specific lanes, services and questions shippers search for. Our published case studies include 3,000+ qualified leads from organic search for an international logistics brand, and 30+ commercial keywords with +118% organic traffic in 6 months for another logistics brand.

How much does digital marketing for a logistics company cost?

At SocialOrange, SEO retainers start at ₹45,000 a month and SEO plus Google Ads at ₹70,000 a month, plus 18% GST. A one-time ₹40,000 audit is credited in full to your first month if you sign a retainer within 30 days. Ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google.

Which marketing channel should a logistics company start with?

Usually SEO plus exact-match Google Search ads, because shippers search for specific services and lanes when they need them. LinkedIn comes in when you sell contract logistics or 3PL services to a defined list of enterprise accounts.

Should we create a page for every route or city we serve?

Only for routes and cities you genuinely serve and can say something specific about. Pages made by swapping city names into the same text are what Google calls scaled content abuse, and they can hurt the whole site.

Do you work with packers and movers?

Yes. Our logistics clients include Globe Moving, alongside Gati KWE, Featherlite Logistics and Arbhu Supply Chain. For movers, Google Business Profile, reviews and a fast WhatsApp quote matter as much as rankings.

How do you measure results for a logistics client?

By enquiries, not traffic. We report quote requests by service and lane, cost per enquiry on ads, and revenue where your CRM lets us track it; rankings and traffic explain the numbers, they are not the result.
